With each issue of Expression, it is a privilege to be able to tell the stories of Emersonians who are out there making a difference, doing exceptionally Emersonian things.
For the past three years, Benjamin Anderson Bashein ’98 has helped bring skateboarding to underserved communities across the country as executive director of The Skatepark Project.
In the last 20, 30, 50 years, the
field of journalism has undergone
myriad shifts and changes.
But one thing has remained

Bonnie Baggesen, general manager of the Office of the Arts, has worked at Emerson for 20 years.
The arts will forever be a force for good, a beacon of hope, and an instrument of change.
Anna Sumilat is part digital host, part cultural organizer, part DJ. Or, as she puts it: “Creative entrepreneur.”
Maureen taught that heightened stories, lives, and circumstances are attainable through the tools of symbolism, naturalism, and poetry.

ArtsEmerson, along with the city of Boston and partners in the local arts community, welcomed to Boston, Little Amal, a 12-foot-tall puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl.
Unofficially, Jonathan “Satch” Satriale the go-to person for many things Emerson.
It is an honor and a privilege to lead this incredible institution, and I am grateful to the Emersonians who came before me for stewarding the College so thoughtfully.
